Find out how to input e-mail addresses into the PNR to ensure your customer's online security.

Traveler verification

Traveler Verification

Travelers are required to authenticate themselves when viewing their travel information on Virtually There® in order to ensure the privacy of the information. This will require that every PNR viewed on Virtually There contain an e-mail address or "pseudo" e-mail address (password) in the PE field.

Traveler Access Through E-mail Sent by the Travel Agent
In cases where you have generated an e-mail to the customer with a hyperlink to their itinerary, Virtually There will automatically encrypt the Sabre® system record locator. The traveler will not be required to verify their e-mail address to access their itinerary as Virtually There will know that it is coming from a trusted source.

Traveler Access From the Virtually There Home Page (www.virtuallythere.com)
In order to access their personal Virtually There itinerary from the home page, users will be asked to provide the e-mail address their travel agent has entered in their PNR - this could be an actual e-mail address or a "pseudo" e-mail address (password) agreed upon by you and your customer. This verification will be in addition to providing their record locator (reservation code) and last name.

Examples of Agency "pseudo" e-mail addresses (password)
  Agency "pseudo" john.doe
"Pseudo" e-mail address entry for Sabre system PNR PE‡JOHN.DOE@.‡
E-mail address prompt for Virtually There itinerary access john.doe
  Agency "pseudo" john_doe
"Pseudo" e-mail address entry for Sabre system PNR PE‡JOHN==DOE@.‡
E-mail address prompt for Virtually There itinerary access john_doe
  Agency "pseudo" funtravel
"Pseudo" e-mail address entry for Sabre system PNR PE‡FUNTRAVEL@.‡
E-mail address prompt for Virtually There itinerary access funtravel

The agreed-upon agency "pseudo" must reside within the PE‡ and @.‡ in the Sabre system PNR. If any other characters follow the @, except for the period (.) and cross of Lorraine (‡), then it will not be considered a "pseudo" e-mail address.

Incorrect "pseudo" e-mail address Examples
  Agency "pseudo" funtravel
"Pseudo" e-mail address entry for Sabre system PNR PE‡FUNTRAVEL@AGENCY.COM‡
E-mail address prompt for Virtually There itinerary access funtravel

Note: In this case the user cannot access with the password "funtravel" and must use "funtravel@agency.com." Text following @ should have only been a . (dot).
