Tip #1: Entering GK hotel segments
Tip #2: EMIR and EMTR formats
Tip #3: Preferred language
Tip #4: Entering e-mail address fields in the Sabre PNR

Tip #1: Entering GK Hotel Segments

When entering GK hotel segments into your Sabre® PNR, it's very important to format the segment information correctly in order to appear in the Virtually There itinerary.

Example:    0HHTAAGK1YYZIN26JAN-OUT27JAN/CI COMFORT INN AIRPORT WEST/DBLB/N20.02/G/SI-¤1500 MATHESON BLVD‡MISSISSAUGA ON L4W3Z4‡FONE 905-624-6900‡FAX 905-624-1114¤RQ NONSMOKING/CF-28640165

The tricky part is the FONE field - you MUST use the change key at the end of the FONE field formation.

Note: See F*QCQTXG in the Sabre system for more information.

Tip #2: EMIR and EMTR Formats

Use these formats if you wish to e-mail the eInvoice (EMIR) or eTicket Receipt (EMTR) to your customer and immediately redisplay your PNR. This will generate an e-mail to your customer and allow you to keep working on their PNR. This is a great time-saver for you and you can even do this while working on queue.

Tip #3: Preferred Language

Did you know that you can send Virtually There itineraries to your customers in their preferred language? Just append a language indicator to the PE field in your PNR, e.g. PE‡EMAIL@ADDRESS‡LANGUAGE CODE.

Example - French PE‡JOHN.DOE@YOURMAIL.COM‡TO/JOHN DOE¤F

  Current valid Language Codes are:
    E=English
F=French
S=Spanish
P=Portuguese
I=Italian
G=German
V=Swedish
R=Greek
C=Simplified Chinese
H=Traditional Chinese
J=Japanese
K=Korean
T=Thai
U=Russian

Tip #4: Entering E-mail Address Fields in the Sabre PNR

E-mail addresses entered using the minimum required format (e-mail address only) will be handled as "TO" addresses (vs. CC or BC).

E-mail addresses are not case-sensitive and should be entered in all uppercase, as lowercase characters count as two characters against the 57-character maximum for the entire e-mail address format. E-mail address characters will be converted to lowercase in the outgoing e-mail message.

Each e-mail address must include an @ sign.

E-mail address fields must not contain spaces. For example, do not place a space between a first name and a last name in an e-mail address. Virtually There will not be able to transmit a message to any e-mail address that contains a space character.
    Valid e-mail Address Entry
    JOHNDOE@IBM.NET
  Invalid e-mail Address Entry
    JOHN DOE @ IBM.NET

You may not use an underscore character, which is occasionally used in e-mail address fields. To indicate an underscore character in an e-mail address, substitute two equal signs (==). Virtually There will convert the two equal signs into an underscore character in the outgoing e-mail message.
    Valid e-mail Address Entry
    JOHN==DOE@IBM.NET
  Invalid e-mail Address Entry
    JOHN_DOE@IBM.NET

You may not use an apostrophe character, which is occasionally used in e-mail address fields. To indicate an apostrophe character in an e-mail address, substitute a forward slash (/). Virtually There will convert the forward slash into an apostrophe character in the outgoing e-mail message.
    Valid e-mail Address Entry
    JOHN.O/LEARY@IBM.NET
  Invalid e-mail Address Entry
    JOHN.O'LEARY@IBM.NET

The number of e-mail addresses allowed for a single e-mail command is limited to roughly 27 e-mail addresses if each address contains the maximum number of 57 characters. If each e-mail address is less than 57 characters in length, the total number of addresses allowed for a single e-mail command is increased.

Text following an action code (TO/, CC/, BC/, FR/) will be used as the Addressee Name in the outgoing e-mail message.

If text is entered following the e-mail address but not prefixed with a valid action code (TO/, CC/, BC/, FR/), such text will be considered a remark and will not be used as the Addressee Name in the e-mail message.

Example:
      PE‡MARY.JONES@IBM.NET‡MR SMITHS SECRETARY
